I’m sorry I didn’t end my Friday’s with a hoot. Fortunately for me but unfortunately for my posts, I have been extra busy and then excruciatingly exhausted. Real parents get that and so do real people, but especially we parents do. So that is why I decided to begin the end my Summer weeks post with Superheroes.
Those of you who know me, know that my son is my superhero. Those of you who know me know that fictionally my favorite superhero is Batman. Why? Well because standing against all odds to fight off bad and bring back good, with no need for recognition or acknowledgement, is what my son and Batman both do. So why superheroes during Summer? Well why not ! Haha
This past weekend our local mall hosted superheroes weekend. Bringing families and fictional characters to celebrate together. This particular movement of events got me thinking. Even though I love a good marvel or dc comic, well WE are the true superheroes. Yes US! The Mums and Daddies changing their ways and lives for their children, alongside the children who grow into better, smarter, stronger humans, everyday. The love of our unique families make us invincible, and that to me is cosmic my friends!
So what is a superhero by definition? Google says ”
a benevolent fictional character with superhuman powers, such as Superman.”
Though we as Mums, Daddies, and kiddos aren’t fictional, I think we posses powers greater than we could ever imagine. With our lives and existence comes possibility, adventure, and greatness. We often mistake ourselves for lesser versions of our potential, and I think it’s time we take off the masks of fear, seeking approval, and lessened self esteem, and be free in knowing that we are wonderful, we are capable, and we are stronger than we know.
Ladies and gents, I present to you, the greatest superhero; YOURSELF. A unique and empowering individual whose dreams can be turned into reality with hard work, humility, and a great sense of humor. I present to you a vision of light and love, and a sky of non-limitations, as truly anything can be made possible and true. I hope you all today can find it in yourself to stand tall and not look down on yourself, as you and those you love, and raise, are even more iconic than Batman could ever be…I wish for you all to begin the end of Summer days with confidence that is humble, Strength that is capable, and creativity that is limitless.
