I hope you all are well, and had a wonderful holiday yesterday! Happy belated Fourth of July. I wanted to discuss Freedom today, as those of us who have it are so lucky and blessed.
No matter who you are or where you come from, we all yearn for freedom. Personally, I always long for freedom of peace of mind, freedom from hardship, financial freedoms, and freedom to feel safe wherever my family and I are. Freedoms I invoke are my freedoms of my rights, freedom to my beliefs, and freedoms to make my own decisions. As children we don’t realize how important freedom is as we are taught solely by those who raise us. Thee isn’t much shade of grey there. As older children and teenagers we begin to learn that we can choose, and think for ourselves. As adults we learn that our freedoms always come at a price, and it is our job to support good and true causes that help us stay good and true to ourselves.
Here are some ways in life we can feel free:
- Surround yourself with good, honest, and kind people
- Say please and thank you
- Say sorry no ones perfect, and we should all own up to our mistakes
- Be humbled and humble yourself
- Put distance between those people and things that bring you down
- Accept that freedom isn’t simply FREE.
- Accept others
- Laugh more
- Know that less is sometimes more
- Love and accept yourself
So while we’re all still celebrating with parties, get togethers, and or fireworks, let’s remember that freedom wasn’t given to us, it was obtained, and it is always our right to keep it, and use it for good, for ourselves and others.
Tonight I wish for you all to remember your freedoms and let them dictate for you a future where you are further than your greatest potential, and happier than your wildest dreams.
