Too old but never too held back

Hi everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend ! I’d like to briefly discuss with you all today, age. Mark Twain once said, ” Age is an issue of mind over matter; if you don’t mind it doesn’t matter.” Too bad I was older already when I knew this to be true! I’ve never been one to care if people asked how old I am, as I’m settled in becoming a more mature me. Sometimes I’ve been told I have an old soul, yet I’m younger than what people believe. I’m ok with that. I rather be wiser and respectful than reckless and non- unwavering.

Being a Mum, I really get to see the stages of life right before my eyes. Babies develop so rapidly and miraculously. Outside of the womb babies continue to grow grow grow. My son for example within a matter of two weeks outgrew two shoe sizes. It happens just like that.

As a person I can’t believe I’m an adult sometimes though soon I’ll be considered an older adult. How does time do that, and why are people ridiculed for what they didn’t do, what they don’t have, or what they have done, because of their age? I admit, I at 15 had decided what life was going to be like for me. Sadly, none of it worked out.. The older I got the more saddening this fact became. And when those moments tend to creep up, I shut them off with the person I am, and the determination I’ve never lost.

Some people can plan their whole lives, but it doesn’t mean all the plans will succeed NOR will it mean all the plans will fail. It definitely doesn’t matter with life how old or young you are when it comes to making that true. Every life has stages, ranges, and has purpose. Don’t forget that. So no matter how old you are, if you’re alive, you still have so much life to live. Don’t waste it, don’t compare it, and when you feel you need more, work hard don’t give up. We all have somewhere to go, some of us know where to and the rest of us are just trekking along to see where we end up.

I wish for you all to not use your ages to compare yourself to where you should be, but use your age to remind yourself of how far you’ve already come.

Much love,

Belle ❤️
