Sleep.

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Thursday ! I hope you have found my posts about hardships, ( the ones I have found personally HARD) enlightening ! Today we focus on sleep. It’s simple. We all need it, half of us can’t sleep, and the other don’t want to sleep.

I’ve never been a good sleeper. Yet, that didn’t and still doesn’t mean I don’t want to sleep… As a child, I would often skip naps, slept for only a few hours at night, would wake up at any light sound, and that followed me my whole life, until I became a parent. Now the 4 hours of sleep I used to be able to survive on feel like a fifteen minute cat nap. I often feel like the times I close my eyes, are the same times to wake up. I’ve always wished I could be one of those who got a solid 8 hours every night. That would be great!

So for those of you like me, who can’t get to sleep, or stay asleep, here are some tips from the experts and a few I’ve tried myself that help sometimes, to help us all!

Other options I’ve used in the past include:

  • night time tea times
  • drinking warm milk with a little cinnamon
  • changing my pillows every 2 -3months
  • changing my mattress every 5 years
  • adding a crane humidifier to your life if you suffer from allergies and heat issues like I do!

I’m no sleep expert and as a parent I struggle to not look and feel like a zombie everyday, but the day all starts with how your night goes, so let’s all try to get a better head start!

I wish for us all to find ways to calm our minds and sleep better!
