Countdown to Christmas Easiest Holiday desserts that won’t break the piggy bank

{I made all two of the pictured desserts and the last one I bought . All were yummy but the homemade fills your soul}

Hi everyone,

I’ll be the first to admit, I am a seasonal eater, so for Christmas I want to make and eat everything in sight. I am an experienced cook, but in the baking department I consider myself a beginner. Now as a parent, you must show self control ( not eat every dessert especially in front of your kids ) and save money( not buy every dessert). So how do I do both? Well I don’t bake everything I want to eat at once; I spread it out over the holidays. I make my treats from home and sometimes buy them so I don’t break the bank.

Here are some treats that are yummy for your tummy but not two expensive.

1. Peanut butter cookies. All you need is a cup of sugar, cup of peanut butter, and one egg to make one dozen! I also add a bunch of vanilla and substitute brown sugar for sugar. You can add sprinkles, edible decor or you can top them with Hershey chocolate once they are baked

2. Box cake. I’m a simple baker, and a great baker once told me “anything from the box added with a few homemade ingredients will taste homemade.” I agree with her 100% so I recommend store bought non expensive cake mix, added with frosting and of course my fave, sprinkles, and voila ! CHRISTMAS CAKE or cupcakes ? 😬

3. Peppermint bark. Melt chocolate any chocolate and break a candy cane. Add those candy cane pieces to the melted chocolate and freeze. Voila peppermint bark !

4. No bake cream pie. Use one of those pre-made pie crusts, add a tub of cool whip, a cup of sugar, and plain cream cheese. Add into the mix Oreos and then dump it into the pie crust. Leave in the fridge for 30mins and then cut a piece and eat it !

Those are my top easy Christmas desserts that won’t bake the bank but are classic!
