#Dog Life . 10 healthy foods for you, your baby , and your fur baby

I have always been an animal lover, but my favorite species are our four legged friends; dogs. Often known as mans best friend they are true to that description. Unfortunately, due to numerous cases of bad or careless owners, dogs do not get the credit they deserve!

Currently my girl ( she is and always will be my first child) is an almost three year old gold retriever. She, like a best friend has taught me how to love unconditionally, laugh even when I didn’t want to, and helped me become more patient, courageous, and loving. I am so thankful for her.

My girl is also amazing with my son. For those of you who do not know much about Golden’s or are considering adopting one, please do they are the best dog breed I have ever known. They are amazing with children, elderly, disabled, and everyone and anyone else in between. They are not however for the angry tempered, impatient or mean. Goldens need a home that is filled with an abundance of love, daily exercise, healthy food, grooming, and laughter. If you have all of those then you are the perfect candidate for one of these fur babies.

So today, I dedicate my blog to my second love, as my first is my husband… my golden retriever. Thank you for helping make football Sundays and all days always a pleasure. Always remember that we, like dogs, should learn how to love unconditionally, and be patient even when it is tough to be. Being that kind of person will always make you a better kind of parent.

So one of the best tips I can give you for parenting a furry and non furry child, besides tons of love, is to make sure they eat healthy! It took me years of training various dog breeds and meeting various people to figure out why eating healthy is so important, for your mental, physical, and spiritual health. While I’m still learing all this myself, I have made sure both my babies know nothing but healthy eating, with a few goodies here and there.

Here are some foods the whole family can enjoy together :

  1. Sweet potatoes
  2. Green beans or any cooked beans really
  3. Carrots
  4. Peas
  5. Eggs with little to no seasonings for your furry friend
  6. Chicken non fried
  7. Rice
  8. Oatmeal
  9. Apples
  10. Bananas

The list above isn’t limited to just these ten items but these are the safest and most variety filled ingredients I have found thus far, that we all can enjoy together. I however, do not recommend by any means peanut butter for furry friends or children unless consulting their doctors first..
